As the final notes of Heanorfest 2026 faded away, we were left reflecting on another incredible celebration of music, drama and dance at Heanor Gate Spencer Academy.
What began as a traditional summer concert has grown into a vibrant performing arts festival, giving students of all ages and abilities the opportunity to showcase their talents. From first-time performers on the Emerging Stage to experienced musicians, dancers and actors on the main stages, Heanorfest continues to inspire confidence, creativity and ambition.
Despite narrowly avoiding a clash with a very important football match, this year’s festival was our biggest and best yet. It was made possible by the enthusiasm of our students, staff, families and wider school community. Once again, the diverse range of music and performances on show were a testament to the dedication and ambition of our students.
Heanorfest is more than a festival – it’s a celebration of talent, community and the power of performance.
