Secondary Intake Admission
Applications for places at Heanor Gate Spencer Academy must be made through the local authority central admissions. Applications should be made through the local authority. For Derbyshire they are available here.
Catchment Area
Our main catchment area includes those students who live within the catchment areas of:

- Horsley Woodhouse Primary
- Howitt Primary
- Loscoe Primary
- Morley Primary
- Mundy Junior
- Richardson Endowed Primary
To find out whether your home is within our catchment area use the ‘Find your normal area secondary school‘ from Derbyshire County Council.
In addition to students from our normal area, the local authority has in recent years also allocated places to students from Breadsall, Codnor, Ilkeston, Langley Mill, Oakwood, Spondon and surrounding villages.

Appeals
If you have been declined a place at Heanor Gate Spencer Academy and wish to appeal this decision, please contact the school admissions team via telephone (01773 716396) or email gcarlin@heanorgatespencer.org.uk.
Appeals will be heard within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged. Appeals are managed by an independent appeals clerk and heard by an independent panel.
