At Heanor Gate, we use a variety of digital systems to support your child’s learning during their time with us. We understand these can be confusing when learning how to use and access them for the first time so the following guides will support you.
We use Microsoft Office 365 for our email accounts, please visit the outlook website or download the Outlook App on a smartphone to access school emails. Your child’s email address and password are the same for the computers on school site, Outlook emails and Google Classroom logins. Please note that we do not reset passwords over the phone or email for parents to access Google Classroom unless there are extenuating circumstances. Any forgotten passwords can be changed during tutor time by your child’s form tutor, an ICT teacher, or by visiting the IT support office on the bottom floor of E block.
Parents should receive an invitation to receive Google Classroom summaries, please contact the school if you have not received this. More information on this is available here.

While Google Classroom is our primary platform for setting work in lessons, assigning homework and sharing resources, many subjects use other platforms to provide additional high quality activities and resources for homework.
